Synopsis | This is the tenth Yearbook to be published by Bowls England, founded in 2007 from the unification of the English Bowling Association and the English Women's Bowling Association. Extending to over 400 pages it's a fact-packed publication that contains details of virtually everything relevant to the game in England. About forty per cent of the book comprises lists of clubs affiliated to Bowls England arranged by county; also included are historical records of competition winners, photographs of winners of the major championships in 2016 and dates of forthcoming national events, including a detailed schedule of the men's, women's and mixed 2017 National Championships. Other diverse topics range from a ten-page contribution from the Bowls Development Alliance, to a list of licensed bowls manufacturers and testers, to details of the Greens Maintenance Advisory Scheme. There's also a handy index of the numerous companies and organisations that purchase advertising space.
Overall the book is excellent value at £4.25 + p & p. Also by the English Bowling Association/Bowls England:
