Synopsis | This digest of bowling law and lore is written by a club bowler for club bowlers who wish to learn about the game, enjoy the sport and develop their skills to become a playing asset to their own club. As well as the usual chapters on choice of bowls, grip, stance and delivery etc, there are useful sections on the duties of a marker, etiquette, private practice (with ten exercises), use of a video camera as an aid to improved technique and a bowls quiz to test your knowledge of the laws.
The Bowls Handbook has the same picture on its front cover as the Bowls Register and was perhaps published as a companion volume. At least three other versions of The Bowls Handbook exist, one differing only in its cover design. The other two vary in their titles and covers: entitled respectively The Bowlers Handbook and Bowls Handbook, the latter is one of at least two publications in 'The Complete Bowler' series - the other being the Register of Play. |
