Synopsis | Roy Wiggins, author of this book and webmaster of the Milton Hill Bowling Club started playing short mat bowls in 1999 when knee problems forced him to curtail his time playing flat green bowls. Now, two artificial knees later, he is a regular skip at the Harwell Short Mat Bowls Club.
He describes the objectives of his book as: introducing new players to the game - in particular, to try and prevent them from developing bad habits - and providing guidance for more experienced players on how to overcome difficult playing situations. A detailed contents page serves, in effect, as an index, and the text is supported throughout with clear colour photographs. This booklet is no longer in print having been superseded by the second edition - details of which can be found here. |
