Synopsis | Nathan Squires returns to his roots in the West Country. Following his career he plans a relaxed rural life, enjoying the sea in his little boat, rediscovering family and friends and pursuing his favourite hobby on the local bowling green.
But he discovered unexpected high jinks behind the polite exterior of the Woodymouth Bowls Club and his pleasure at being appointed Club Treasurer is dimmed when he learns his predecessor died in mysterious circumstances. More deaths follow. A torrent of trouble is unleashed as suspicion falls on Nathan for a series of attacks on young girls. New-found colleagues, old acquaintances and new lady friends desert him as hoax letters and phone calls with planted evidence threaten him. Who is responsible? Has his past followed him, in the form of old enemies seeking revenge? His efforts to bury tragic family history and find new love are repeatedly thwarted. When he finally meets an exciting lover, she has her own family complications which could overwhelm the relationship. |
