Synopsis | Bowls from 'A' to 'Z' is one of a small handful of bowls books to emanate from New Zealand and covers the usual topics of a general bowls manual - choice of bowls; grip; stance; delivery; line and length, etc. However, what's different about this book is that it's written specifically for New Zealand's playing conditions, and to cope with greens that are among the fastest in the world the author controversially advocates a delivery where the bowl is released about 12 inches in front of the stationary foot with no back-swing. Other contentious issues, including a recommendation to focus on the jack on delivery, make this book an intriguing read, though of limited application.
